Security Officers Arrested For Impersonating CMI, ISO

Police Flying Squad in Iganga has arrested four men for impersonating as Central Military Intelligence (CMI) and Internal Security Organisation (ISO) operatives.

 

The four were involved in kidnapping and extorting businessmen of their money.

 

They include two police officers and a private security man who are still at large.

 

The Police Spokes Person for Busoga East, James Mubi identified the arrested suspects as Samanya Reagan a UPDF deserter and two former crime preventers Bidondole Abudu, 33 and Bagidadi Yusufu, residents of Iganga town and their driver Waiswa Safiki a resident of Bugiri Town.

 

Mubi added that their arrest followed several complaints from residents and the last tip off came from two victims; a business woman and a man whom they had jointly extorted Shs7.4m shillings after they alleged they had found bullet shells in the victims’ respective homes in Iganga and Musita towns.

 

According to Police, the suspects together with their accomplices who are on the run have forged letters and identity cards from CMI headquarters in Kampala. They carry these IDs to the respective Police stations claiming they are attached to the office of the Prime Minister.

 

The forged letters and the Identity cards which eastnews saw, indicates that Samanya Reagan, a UPDF deserter is at the rank of Lt. Col, Bidondole Abdu at the rank of a Major, whereas Bagidadi Yusufu who is actually a shoe-shiner in Iganga town is at the rank of a Captain.
