The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Anita Among is expected to be Chief Guest as North Mbale diocese celebrates 30 years of existence since it broke away from Mbale diocese in 1990.
This was disclosed by Isaiah Sasaga Wanzira, the organizing committee chairperson also area Member of Parliament representing Budadiri East constituency in Sironko district.
Wanzira says the celebrations to be held on Saturday (tomorrow) 5th November will also be used to fundraise over Shs500 Million to be used in completing the new church building currently under construction.
He adds that they are going to have other guests like Members of Parliament, LCVs, and other politicians from Bugisu and eastern region at large.
Samuel Wabulakha, the retired bishop of Mbale diocese says that all churches in Mbale and North Mbale diocese are going to be involved in the celebrations with various activities like competitions in singing, bible recitations among others.
He urged all Christians and non- Christians to come in big numbers and celebrate together as a way of showing solidarity.
