TRAGIC! Three Female Traders Perish In Road Accident, 11 Critically Injured

AMURIA

 

At least three female traders have died and 11 others injured in a road accident that happened yesterday morning 12th February 2021 at Amucu, Apeduru Sub County in Amuria district.

 

Moses Muzima, the District Police Commander (DPC) Amuria said the fatal accident occurred after a vehicle registration number UAZ 855X overturned killing three people on the spot.

 

The traders mainly from Amuria were travelling to Ochorimongin market in Katakwi district.

 

The deceased have been identified as Jacinta Akello, 52, Mary Adongo, 45, and Maria Anna Akello, 75, all residents of Amilimil village, Abwanget parish in Willa Sub County.

 

The cause of the accident is not yet established and the driver by name of David Odeng is at large.

Muzima says both injured and deceased have been taken to Amuria hospital for treatment and postmortem respectively.

 

Muzima warned drivers against reckless driving, drink driving and over speeding saying they are the major causes of road accidents in Amuria district.
