Uganda National Roads Authority has started the exercise of mapping, identifying people and their properties that will be affected during the construction of Nalugugu-Budadiri-Namagumba circular road in Sironko district.According to Dinah Nakombe, the engineer heading national roads authority UNRA Mbale region, they have a team on ground evaluating all residents and their properties mapped within the road reserve that will be compensated to pave way for road construction soon.
She adds that they have started from Bukise Sub County where the road starts from adding that before the end of this week evaluation works will be done before computing the amount of money to be given to affected residents.
Nakombe adds that parliament of Uganda approved over 20 billion shillings loan from World Bank to construct the road.
Hebert Mulekwe, the LCV chairperson of Sironko district has urged residents to embrace the project saying that those in road reserves from remaining affected sub counties should be calm because the team will reach them soon.
He also warns family members against dividing themselves on properties but be united to fast track the exercise.
