The East Kyoga Police have issued strong guidelines to be followed by the public during this festive season.
According to David Ongom Mudong the East Kyoga Police Spokesperson, this year’s festivities are not as normal as usual calling on the public to respect the COVID-19 guidelines.
“It’s not business as usual, so members of the public must know that we are in COVID-19 season. So let’s put key observations while celebrating, “said Ongom.
Ongom while speaking to the media at the East Kyoga regional Police Headquarters in Soroti City said, police has already put in place measures to crackdown drivers who are going to violate the set Ministry of Health Standard Operating Procedures.
“People traveling must be vigilant and drivers must regulate traffic. There must be no over loading, no over speeding, no driving of cars under Dangerous Mechanical Conditions among others,” he added.
He also reveals that, Police is going to crackdown on all social networking a part from those who will be holding house parties. Adding that worship places must also stick to the guidelines which were imposed to them during lifting of the ban on worship places.
He encouraged churches to continue providing hand washing facilities, temperature guns and regulate numbers.
Ongom also said that, night Bars and Clubs that will be found operating will be closed and all the occupants apprehended saying they have both foot and motorized patrols to crackdown the abusers.
