Bugiri
Police in Bugiri have recovered a decomposing body of a man in Igogero swamp, five kilometres along the Bugiri to Iganga Highway.
The body of the unidentified man was found on Friday 16th April 2021. He was probably in his early 30’s, had a deep cut on the head and wore a jeans pair of trousers and black shirt.
The LC One Chairman Igogero Village, Sam Higenyi said he suspects the deceased could have been murdered from elsewhere before being dumped in the area during late night hours.
The body was discovered by a group of youths who had gone to the swamp to swim in the muddy waters.
This is the third body discovered in the same swamp since the start of the year.
The officer in charge CID, Busoko Police Post, James Kakala urged anyone with a missing relative to report to Bugiri hospital mortuary to identify the body.
Kakala said investigations are underway establish who could be responsible for the murder and dumping of the deceased person in the swamp.
He urged members of the public to always move along with identification documents to easily trace relatives during such times of trouble.
