On Tuesday, 18th May 2021, all roads led to Soroti District Headquarters where the City Mayor, Division Mayors and their Deputies were to be sworn in.
Among those was a little known Female Youth Councilor for Soroti East Division, Zainab Nancha.
Nankya has made some history in Soroti City; first as one of the few NRM Candidates to go through in a City that is predominantly Blue (FDC). Secondly, she becomes one of the very few NRM Councilors to be appointed by an FDC Party Member Mayor.
After the morning raucous, where East Division Mayor, Paul Omer had initially shunned the swearing in, things turned out sweet for Nankya whom Omer picked to be his Secretary for Finance and Administration.
Nanca is a graduate of Uganda College of Commerce Soroti where she attained a Diploma in Records and Information Management in the year 2019.
The soft Spoken Nanca who is a product of Katakwi district studied her O’ Level at Kasawo Secondary School, Kayunga before coming back to Soroti City where she completed her A’ Level at Kingstone Secondary School.
