IGANGA
Iganga police have arrested a 50 year old horney man for allegedly defiling his 9 year old daughter.
The suspect, Manisuli Masegere is a resident of Namundudi B in Iganga district was arrested yesterday 7th July 2021.
Manisuli is said to have separated from the girl’s mother 5 years back and the minor is said to have been staying with the grandmother since.
The incident however happened when the grandmother, also Masegere’s mother went for a burial leaving the girl home alone.
It is alleged that Masegere took advantage of the mother’s absence to force himself on the daughter.
He is said to have lured the daughter into the house with biscuits and sweets.
He led the innocent soul into the house and later locked the door.
The girl however raised an alarm because of the pain that was being inflicted on her.
This attracted the attention of neighbors and passersby who came to her rescue.
Reports from the medics indicate the juvenile was severely injured during the act.
The acting PRO Busoga East region, SP Tulabagenyi Aloni said investigations in the matter are ongoing.
He also cautioned mothers and guardians on leaving children, especially the girl children home alone.
He said merciless and heartless beings like Masegere take advantage of such situations to cause harm to the children.
