Nabilatuk district local government has received a new Chief Administrative Officer Luke Jackson Abwangamoi Abong as the Outgoing Alfred Malinga prepares to take over Otuke District.
The handover ceremony filled with glamour took place on Monday, the 12th July 2021 at the district headquarters.
Alfred Malinga, the first CAO of Nabilatuk District local government after the District was curved out from Nakapiripirit District Local Government in July 2018 is expected to assume office as CAO Otuke District Local Government on Wednesday 14th July 2021.
Speaking during the handover, the outgoing CAO Malinga commended the District technical team for being cooperative and gave a detailed report ranging from the district background, achievements and challenges.
He boasted of the achievements he has attained in the last 3 years including building the offices for the District Headquarters.
According to Malinga, he started the district with a staffing level of only 17% but expressed gratitude that the staffing level is now over 52%.
“I implore the new CAO and the staff to work towards the district vision, mission, local revenue, recruitments and promotions of staff among others” he said.
Meanwhile, Abwangamoi who has been the CAO Abim District pledged to build on what the district has set and advocated for teamwork within the district.
Abong warned civil servants against embezzlement of funds but rather be content with what they have.
He emphasized that materialism is nothing but what matters is the legacy one has built as a result of their work.
Abong further urged civil servants to ensure they account for funds disbursed within the stipulated 30 days in accordance with the Local Government Accounting and Financial regulations.
During the ceremony the staff presented gifts to the outgoing CAO Mr. Alfred Malinga including; Karamojong traditional wear locally known as ‘’Nakatuku’’, a small stool, traditional sticks and a bull.
