SOROTI
The Ngora County Member of Parliament legal team headed by Okello Oryem Advocates have asked Soroti High Court to quash 26 Affidavits filled by David Abala challenging Achayo’s victory.
The lawyers contend that the Affidavits filed by Abala’s legal team headed by Philip Engulu are cooked up Affidavits.
Alfred Okello Oryem of Okello-Oryem and Company Advocates representing Achayo says out of the 40 Affidavits, 26 affidavits don’t pass the test of the law therefore they should be thrown away.
Addressing the Media after the adjournment of the hearing, Okello says all the witnesses didn’t specify whether they are males or females in their affidavits.
“The witnesses also did not attach photocopies of their national Identities to their affidavits,” Said Okello.
He stated that the witnesses claim that they are illiterate and don’t know how to read and write yet they signed documents written in English without a certifying document from the commissioner of oath to a certain their claims meaning they are unsatisfactory.
Ngora County Ex-legislator Abala David is represented by Medard Ssegona and Philip Opio and Company Advocates.
But to Philip Opio the petitioners advocate said they are unbothered even though court decides in favour of the 1 st respondent.
However, Lady Justice Jane Kajuga Okuo has adjourned court hearing till tomorrow Tuesday at 11:00AM for further hearing.
