Kaliro District Vaccinates all Teachers

KALIRO

A total of 567,321 people  have so far  received COVID 19 Jabs in
Kaliro district among whom are all teachers both in government aided and private schools.

 

This was revealed by the District Health Officer, Dr. Allan Katamba yesterday 11th November 2021.

The district received 4500 doses of COVID 19 vaccines this year and
has so far managed to dispose off  2300 to vulnerable persons like the
elderly and those with underlying conditions like diabetes
hypertension, and teachers.

The district health officer Kaliro, Doctor Allan Katamba said the
increased turn up of persons receiving the COVID 19 jabs in the
district is as a result of increased sensitization by the COVID 19
task force about the need to undergo the exercise avoid incurring huge losses in future besides the frequent visits by the task force in the various sub counties.

“We have been moving around the district every week holding meetings in various sub counties besides trying to talk to the various stakeholders about the dangers of contracting the COVID 19 disease “he said.
Katamba said all 5667 teachers in both government and privately owned schools in the district have received COVID 19 jabs ahead of the schools re-opening next year.
He appealed to members of the public who have not yet received COVID 19 jabs to report to the nearest health facility since they will not be allowed in public places next year without a vaccination card.
TheResident District Commissioner Kaliro, Billy Mulindwa cautioned members of the public who are moving around discouraging people from undergoing COVID 19 vaccination saying it causes impotence saying anyone found guilty risks being arrested and prosecuted before courts of law.
