Resident State Attorney Arrested Receiving Shs1.5 Million Bribe

The State House Anti-Corruption Unit has arrested the Masindi Resident State Attorney over allegations of soliciting and receiving a bribe from accused persons.


Charles Bwiiso was arrested yesterday at about 2:20PM at his office red-handed receiving Shs1.5M which was part of the Shs3Million he had asked for in order to close a file of a defilement case.


In a tweet, the State House Anti-corruption Unit said the arrest was carried out together with the Uganda Police.


“In a joint intervention today by @AntiGraft_SH & @PoliceUg, RSA Charles Bwiiso was caught red handed receiving a deposit of Ugx.1.5 from the suspect’s family.” Reads the tweet.


Details about where he was taken and when he will be arraigned in court are yet to follow.
