Residents of Dalatawu village Kameruka Sub County in Budaka district were in shock yesterday 24th after a man killed his wife and later hanged himself.
The deceased identified as Yoramu Mudu is aged 60 years while his wife, Rose Kato is aged 38 years.
One of their children who witnessed the incident told journalists that the two had been arguing about the ownership of land and two cows since the previous day.
The minor adds that his father wanted to sell a plot of land and two cows to start a business which the mother disagreed with.
He adds that his father used a sharp panga to chop off the head of their mother and later got a rope and hanged himself on a mango tree in the compound.
John Mubala, the area LCI chairperson also says that they were informed as local leaders by the couple’s children when the two had already died.
He urged married couples to also seek police, local leaders and FIDA to address their family wrangles rather than taking the law into their hands.
By press time, police had not yet been informed about the incident.
