MBALE CITY
Police in Mbale city has revealed areas within Northern City Division where cases of incest and defilement are on the rise due to drug abuse.
The revelation was made by John Mugisha, the DPC of Northern City Division in Mbale city while addressing councilors during the official welcome of Dorothy Mwajuse, the Deputy Resident City Commissioner last week.
According to Mugisha, his office receives over ten cases of either defilement or incest especially from the slum areas of Bulago, Mission, Bujoloto, Kiteso, Soweto, Kikyafu and Nambozo cells.
He added that as police they are going to launch an operation on idle youths who smoke marijuana from those areas and be arrested in order to reduce the cases.
Mugisha also urged parents to give advice to their children such that they grow as responsible people in the community.
Meanwhile, Dorothy Mwajuse, urged local leaders to work together with her office to end land conflicts and especially land grabbing.
