MBALE CITY
Mbale City Council is embroiled in a fight for office space with the Deputy Resident City Commissioner, Mbale Industrial City Division.
The City Councilors are accusing Banja Hamza of allocating himself an office at former Wanale division offices yet according to them, the same office had been allocated to Mbale City Service Commission.
Consequently on the 12th/5/2022 Mbale City Council caused an ordinary council meeting chaired by Deputy Speaker, Magambo Abdallah and passed a resolution to kick out Banja Hamza.
Magambo Abdallah ordered the City Clerk, David Kyasanku to write to the Deputy RCC to vacate their offices because he has occupied them illegally.
“We can’t operate the City in an informal way, the RCC should have gotten permission from the City Clerk.” Magambo said.
Kakai Harriet who is the Deputy Mayor Mbale City told the Media that the Deputy RCC should go to the regional block where she says there’s free space.
However, Masaba Muhamood, the Mayor Industrial city division rubbished the City Council resolution saying even if they went with the military, they will not be allowed to remove him from those offices.
He adds that the deputy RCC was posted to Industrial city division and the offices he’s occupying are for the division.
