Police in Namisindwa district have today, 25th May 2022 arrested a 72 year old man on allegations of defiling his 7 year old grandchild.
The suspect is identified as Abed Wabuya a resident of Butingo cell, Butinduyi ward Magale town council in Namisindwa district.
According to Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson Wabuyi defiled his granddaughter after parents left him to take care of her.
He adds that parents came back and got when he had sexually used the minor that’s when they reported the matter to area LCII chairperson only known as Wabuna who then alerted police of Magale post who picked him up.
While speaking to our reporter today, Wabuna condemned what Wabuya did saying that the law must take its course.
By press time the suspect was at Namisindwa central police station waiting to be taken to court to answer charges of aggravated defilement.
