EXCLUSIVE: Slay Queen Sylvia Owori Shouldn’t Torment My People- Sarah Opendi

The Woman Member of Parliament, Tororo District has lashed out at renowned socialite, Sylvia Owori for dragging her into her land wrangles with sections of Tororo Community.

Sarah Opendi speaking to this website in an exclusive interview today, 26th May, 2022 was responding to allegations attributed to Owori in a local online publication.

In the publication, Owori is quoted saying Opendi is supporting people who killed her father, brother Hakeem and now want her dead over their ancestral land found in Nyangole Sub County in Tororo District.

In the allegations, Owori claims that people who want to take their family land poisoned Hakeem, a renowned Music promoter when he visited Tororo and that postmortem results from IHK hospital confirmed that Hakeem died of multiple organ failure due to poisoning.

In response, Opendi said Owor:

“This slay queen should stop tormenting people! I am hearing all these allegations of people killing her brother for the first time! The fact is she has been a Kampala girl and had no business with anyone in Tororo for over 30years.”

Opendi also wondered why Owori didn’t report the Poison murder to police but only to come up with the allegation now that she is embroiled in a bitter land dispute with Nyangoleans in Tororo.

Opendi also revealed that Owori has not had any business with anybody in Tororo for the last 30 years only to return with guns to displace over 200 families with guns after being appointed into the Operation Wealth Creation Program headed by Gen. Salim Saleh.

Asked why Owori picked on her, Opendi said, the petition that was filed and presented to the Speaker of Parliament was forwarded through the MP West Budama and not through her.

“I therefore do not know what this Slay Queen is up to,” Opendi said.

Opendi also revealed that the people of Nyakesi Village “E”, Iyakango Parish, Nyangole Sub County in Tororo District have petitioned the Speaker of Parliament in a petition dated 6th May 2022 but forwarded by the area MP on the 16th May, 2022 to the Speaker.

” The Speaker directed that the committee on Physical Infrastructure should handle the case, let’s wait for their findings.” Opendi revealed.

When this reporter asked Opendi whether Owori had been ‘imported’ to fight her politically, Opendi laughed this off saying she is “unbwoggable.”

“I have fought bigger battles and won! OWORI is a Kenyan who I now understand from her assertions, that her father worked in Tororo! I have never met her and am unbwokable! A slay queen can not scare me!” Opendi said before adding:

“I represent people and the people presented their petition to the Speaker! That’s all! Why doesn’t she go to her uncles and claim land in kisumu???”
