MBALE CITY

Parents and pupils of Kolonyi government aided  primary school  at Northern city division in Mbale city  have chased their head teacher from  office.
Joy Mulegeri faced the wrath of parents yesterday  morning, 24th May, 2022 after she was accused of mistreating their kids at school and also asking them to pay extra money for school fees.
Parents are entitled to pay  100,000/=  for a p7 pupil and  30,000/= for lower primary which has been opposed by parents since the school is government aided.
While speaking during the meeting chaired by Ahamed Washaki the Mbale city RCC  at the school ,Juma Wabewo one of the parents says Joy  Muleregi the head teacher  does not respect them as parents  in such a way that she uses abusive  words and also makes their children work in the school garden for long hours while at school.
Fred Masaba and Charles Wambale all parents said that they are poor and can’t afford money to pay for their children but head teacher has been chasing them back as if it is a private school.
Ahemdi  washake  the RCC of Mbale city called for calm among parents saying that he is going to talk to Mbale city education officer to have another head teacher posted their soon.
He warned teachers from government schools against asking too much amount of money from parents since government has put free education such that even the poor can also afford to educate their children.
By press time parents and children were in jubilation by dancing after chasing the head teacher.
