SOROTI: Sub County Bosses Go to Jail Over Cattle Theft

SOROTI CITY

Soroti chief magistrate Court on Tuesday the 24th May remanded the sub-county chairperson LC III Lale sub-county, LC II lale parish and LC I Orwadai village to government prison until 8th/06/2022.

The LC III chairman is Osman Oyoma and the two chairpersons; LC II Lale parish Benard Eyalu who doubles as NRM chairman Lale sub-county and Keseren Erwatu LC I Orwadai.

They have been charged by the magistrate her Worship Margarete Aanyu on two counts under crime case numbers 288 thefts of 9 cattle worth 9 million and Conspiracy to commit a felony.

Oyoma Osman LC III Lale sub-county was arrested in connection to the theft of 7 animals belonging to Alobo Anna 43 years and Esanyu Jacob 46 years all residents of Orwadai village in Llale sub-county in Soroti district.

Oyoma together with other 2 chairman Benard Eyalu LC II chairman and LC I Keseren Erwatu LC I Orwaai have been held line with theft  and disappearance of 7 animals.

Meanwhile the Trio denied the charges read to them, they will appear in court on 8th/06/2022 for hearing.
