Police in Namisindwa is holding a 72 year old man for murdering his wife by strangulation.
The suspect identified as Vincent Watsango a resident of Bukhotso village , Buwasiba parish Bamboko sub county in Namisindwa district was arrested yesterday, 20th June 2022.
According to Sitsangj Safu an eyewitness, Watsango had misunderstandings with his wife known as Margret Achi aged 62 years of age over unknown issues that’s when he twisted her neck until she died.
He adds that it was children who made an alarm but by the time they responded Achi was already dead.
Safu also says that they arrested the suspect and took him to police post of Bubutu where he is currently being detained from.
Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson confirmed the incident saying that Watsango is going to be taken to court and answer charges of murder.
Mean while,Mbale police is still stranded with unknown body found dead in a hotel over the weekend.
Police in Mbale city is still stuck with unknown body which was found in Oxygen hotel room over the weekend.
According to Rogers Taitika the Elgon region Police spokesperson, after discovering the body they took it at Mbale city mortuary but up to now they have failed to identify the owners.
He adds that they are making arrangements of burying it in Mbale city cemetery.
Taitika also says that they are going to exhume the body if owners come and claim.
