22 Year Old Soroti Mother Seeks Shs15M for Son’s Heart Surgery in India

A mother of 2 year old Sasa Lawrence is seeking financial help towards the heart surgery of her son in India. Sasa is in desperate need of surgery based on the medical report seen by this reporter.
Sharon Namuyige 22, said her son was diagnosed with heart complications from Kam Imaging Center, Soroti and had been going to Soroti regional referral hospital for treatment but was later referred to Mulago.
On the 6th September, Lawrence was diagnosed with the same complication by Dr. Michael Charles Oketcho, the consultant cardio thoracic surgeon head of paediatric cardiac surgery at Mulago who then recommended that ‘corrective open heart surgery at the earliest stage be done as soon as possible.
According to the medical report from Mulago, the little Lawrence was assessed with oxygen saturation at 71%, weighing 10kgs and having a heart rate of 102b/minute.
Namuyige said the cost of treatment has been catered for by a charity organization but only being delayed due to financial hurdles to meet visa, air ticket and upkeep money. Sasa’s surgery is a high risk one and the family may take up to a month in India. She is asking well-wishers to help raise Shs15 million.
