BREAKING! State House Anti-Corruption Unit Arrests Mbale City Bosses, Land Board Members

State House Anti-Corruption Unit has today, 15th September 2022 arrested top Mbale city officers and land board members for allegedly conniving to sell over ten hectares of government land located at Nakaloke  in Northern City Division, Mbale City.

 

Speaking to this website, Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson identified the suspects as Aaron Mulyanyuma, former Town Clerk of Nakoloke Town Council, Kasimu Wamboka former Deputy Town Clerk Nakaloke.

 

Others arrested are Wazemba Monica, Nakaloke Town Council Physical Planner, Zebia Edwawu Neumbe, Sarah Kauza and Gedfrey Washemba all Area Committee members. The other official is Nambuya Mary, a Health Inspector and also member Area Land Committee.

 

 

He said that the suspects are accused of forging documents and conniving with land grabbers to give away Nakoloke town council land.

 

The PRO adds that they have started investigations and once complete, the suspects will be taken to court to answer charges of corruption and illegally selling government properties.

 

Taitika urged civil servants to take this arrest as an example and should therefore respect government assets because the law may catch up with them.
