Police in Bukedea has arrested a 47 year old man for battering his wife on Tuesday night leading to her death on Wednesday, 9th November 2022.
Moses Oguti, a resident of Kadacar village, Kadacar parish in Kangole Sub County in Bukedea district is alleged to have murdered his wife Jessica Elaete 37.
According to sources, Oguti had a bitter quarrel with his wife whom he later assaulted.
The deceased was rushed to Kabarwa health center III on Wednesday morning but her life ended.
In the same morning of Wednesday, the relatives of the deceased reported the case to Kabarwa police post.
“After their fight, the case was reported to police, unfortunately, Elaete passed on and the husband took off,”said Police.
Thursday afternoon 10th, November 2022, the police managed to arrest Mr. Oguti who was on the run.
Mr. Charles Patrick Okoto, the district police commander Bukedea confirmed the arrest and said the file has been processed and the murder suspect will be produced to court.
“I want to confirm that in our cells, we have Mr. Oguti arrested on Thursday afternoon over the offence of murdering his wife Ms. Elaete,” said Mr. Okoto.
Mr. Okoto however, advised the general public to develop strategies of resolving family disputes.
