Government has confirmed that Uganda Broadcasting Cooperation will broadcast this year’s World Cup to be held in Qatar.
This was revealed by the Minister of Information, Communications Technology and National Guidance, Chris Baryomunsi while addressing the press this morning 11th November, 2022 at Uganda Media Center.
Baryomunsi said government has always supported the National Broadcaster to ensure that the citizens are part of the global community in sports.
“As a football loving nation, the government of Uganda has always supported the National Broadcaster to ensure that the citizens are part of the global community in sports,” the Minister said.
Baryomunsi’s address was shortly followed by a press statement released by UBC Management in which it confirmed what the Minister had said.

“UBC secured the broadcast rights for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar from November 20 to September 18th. The Free to Air Rights is free and exclusive to UBC,” the statement reads in part.
UBC management also assures Ugandans that the games shall be aired for free on UBC and Star TV and all its 11 radio stations across the country.
“Let us enjoy the games as part of the Festive Season,” UBC Management says in the statement.
