Results of a patient suspected to be an Ebola case who was admitted into Mbale regional referral hospital yesterday have turned negative according to authorities.
Yesterday, shock engulfed the medical staff of Mbale regional referral hospital after receiving a 16 years old patient from Kumi district with signs and symptoms relating to Ebola.
Jonathan Wangisi, the Mbale District Health Officer also yesterday confirmed to the media that it was the first suspected case and said that they had isolated the patient and taken samples to Entebbe for analysis.
While speaking to the media this morning, 11th November, 2022, Dr. Stephen Obbo, the director of Mbale regional referral hospital says that results were negative meaning the patient was not having Ebola.
However, he cautioned the public to continue putting in place measures like social distance, reporting any patients with suspected signs and symptoms of Ebola to health authorities.
