A section of Bukedi sub region youths drawn from districts of Tororo, Pallisa, Butebo, Butaleja, Busia, Kibuuku and Budaka have endorsed President Museveni as National Resistance Movement (NRM) presidential flag bearer come 2026 general elections
The endorsement that was led by the Eastern Uganda youth MP, Bernard Odoi Onen Mutusa took place yesterday, Sunday November 13th 2022 on top of Tororo rock where they were joined by the Tororo district police commander and Tororo deputy RDC Albert Amula.
Onen with passion revealed that president Museveni has exhibited all qualities of a good leader and running this country without him in the top leadership would be disaster.
He disclosed that as Bukedi youths, president Museveni is a generational leader to them whose leadership has captured all age groups.
The Eastern youth MP also described Museveni as an iconic leader whose diligent works have solidified the integration process of East African community.
To Onen, yesterday’s endorsement is historical and they are sure that President Museveni will heavily win in the forthcoming elections saying their votes and those of their supporters can earn president Museveni victory of which they are equally ready to protect the NRM votes.
Caroline Nawetene, a Youth leader from Butaleja district told Eastnews that she is supporting president Museveni’s candidature following tremendous achievements his government has initiated in the area like Doho 1 and 2 projects that is employing a number of people in the district.
They only appealed to the president to consider tarmacking of Mbale –Butaleja- Namutumba road aimed at activating economic activities in the area.
Namisi Barbra, the secretary finance Budaka district said that she has endorsed president Museveni due to his supportive programs that have promoted agriculture in Budaka
John Apedo, the district youth chairperson of Palisa district says through this government, he was able to go to school through UPE and USE.
The endorsement was crowned by a kick boxing competition where local leaders criticized it for being non inclusive since few people were from Tororo.
