Isaac Nayanga, a 46 year old man from Bumayayu village, Buyese parish Nabitsikhi Sub County in Namisindwa district survived being lynched by an angry mob this morning, 9th December, 2022 after he was found red handed with cooked pieces of stolen chicken.
According to Safu Sitsangi, one of the eye witnesses, unknown thieves broke into the kitchen of Isaac Lumbuuku, one of their residents and took away all his 40 chicken last night.
“This morning, locals with the help of the area LCI chairperson started checking into all houses of people they suspected to have been involved in the theft. That is when we got boiled chicken in his house with feathers,” he said.
Sitsangi says that residents armed with pangas, sticks, and stones wanted to lynch the suspect but was saved by James Mukhwana, the area LCI chairperson.
Mukhwana the LCI chairperson of Bumayayu village warned locals especially youths against involving in theft as they head to Christmas time.
