NATIONAL
Uganda Police has released a list of 1597 venues granted permission to display fireworks on the night of 31st December, 2022 warning that any fireworks outside the permitted ones are illegal.
The list was released by the Police Spokesperson, ACP Fred Enanga in a statement yesterday 29th December, 2022.
“The displays include; a string of firecrackers, close proximity and special events fireworks,” Enanga said adding that only contractors licensed under Explosive Act, shall display fireworks following standard fireworks displays.
He named the licensed companies as; Fire works 7000, M/S Sky Flames {U] Ltd, M/S Quality Lighting [U} Ltd, M/S Extremes Events {U} Ltd, M/S Tomil Fireworks {U} Limited, M/S Goshen Africa{U} Ltd, M/S Light Africa {U} Ltd and Fesco Ltd.
The venues granted permission in the greater eastern Uganda are as follows;
