NAMISINDWA: Son Murders Father for Denying Him Land Ownership

Shock engulfed residents of Shokoi village, Bukimwanga parish Bukhabusi Sub County in Namisindwa district on Sunday, 29th January, 2023 after a son murdered his father for refusing to give him land.

 

According to David Matenge, the LCIII chairperson of Bukhabusi Sub County, the deceased is identified as Michael Wambwa aged 53 years of age and a resident of Shokoi village, Bukimwanga parish.

 

He added that Ivan Wambwa attacked his father at night with a panga in his house and killed him from there after accusing him of not giving him land to sell.

 

Matenga also said that the son and father have been in conflict for a long time as the father also used to threaten to kill his son over that same land.

 

Fredrick Bango, the Namisindwa District Resident Commissioner has confirmed the matter and warned people against taking law into their hands.

 

He added that the body has been taken to Mbale main referral hospital for postmortem as the suspect is still on the run.

 

By press time, Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson declined to give a comment saying that he has not yet got detailed information.
