There was tension at Bumilakhantsa village, Butsemayi parish, Bubutu Sub County in Namisindwa district yesterday on Monday after a mother survived being murdered by her own biological sons.
The two sons identified as Stephen Siwunwa aged 46 and James Mayeku, 36 armed with pangas attacked their own mother called Grace Musoyo at her house but she escaped by jumping through the window while the two were breaking the door.
Dadewo Walwuba, an area resident said that the two accused their mother of keeping wild cats that cry during the night and bewitching them which has stopped them from siring kids.
He added that with much anger after the mother escaped, the duo slashed down all her crops like cassava, bananas, and coffee among others accusing her of witchcraft.
Walwuba also said that currently their mother Musoyo is hiding at an unknown place for fear of being killed by her sons.
Fredrick Bango, the Namisindwa District Resident District Commissioner has confirmed the incident saying that they are investigating the matter before arresting the suspects.
