Government has announced the appointment of a new Board of Directors for Uganda Air Cargo Corporation (UACC) with Lt. Gen Charles Okidi a member.
The appointment was announced by the State Minister for ICT and National Guidance, Kabbyanga Godfrey Baluku during a Media briefing today, 2nd February, 2023 at Uganda Media Center, Kampala.
Kabbyanga said the appointment of the new board was approved by Cabinet in its fourth meeting of 2023, held on Monday 30th January, 2023.
The approved nominees for appointment of the Board of Directors for Uganda Air Cargo Corporation (UACC) as follows:
Hon. Capt. Gad Gasatura –Chairperson with members being Lt. Gen. Charles Okidi, Mr. Martin Odaka Omeedo, Ms. Jolly Kamugira Kaguhangire, Emmanuel Osuna and Ms. Faridah Charity.
The new Board replaces the former that was chaired by Col. Timothy Kanyogonya. Other members were; Lt. Gen. Nakabus James Lakara, Allan Paul Nyakahama, Ms. Adong Suzan Odongo, Mr. Meddie B Mulumba, Lt Gen. Charles Lutaaya, Lt. Gen. James Mugira, Eng. John Kagoro Tusubira, Princess Dorothy Nasolo and Bishop Zebedee Kohangwa Masereka.
Uganda Air Cargo Corporation (UACC) is a body corporate primarily established to operate air transport services within and outside Uganda. Since its establishment in 1994, UACC has been serving the whole of Africa and beyond by providing air cargo and passenger charters.
It has a fleet of L-382 Hercules aircraft transports all types of cargo ranging from small, medium heavy and oversized cargo as well as dangerous goods.
Uganda Air Cargo Corporation carries materials and supplies to remote and challenging destinations that have short paved, unpaved and grass runways, making it suitable for humanitarian/ relief missions. It supports customers in the mining, construction and oil industries.
Additionally Cabinet also approved the appointment of two New members to the Governing Board of the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA).
They are; Ms. Mercy K. Kainobwisho, representative of the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) and Dr. Hatwib Mugasa, representative of the National Information Technology Authority-Uganda(NITA-U).
