A 24 year old man has killed his father after chopping off his head for allegedly refusing to give him more land to sell.
The suspect who is currently on the run has been identified as Wetaya. The deceased is Wilson Masai aged 70 years and a resident of Bumakuma village Buwatuwa parish, Buwatuwa Sub County in Namisindwa district.
According to eyewitnesses, on Friday, 3rd February, 2023, Masai blamed his son for selling many pieces of and all properties like buildings last year.
Masai promised never to give his son another piece of land which provoked the latter who promptly cut off his father’s head killing him on spot using a sharp panga he was armed with then later took off.
Sam Kundu, the LC3 chairperson of Buwatuwa Sub County has confirmed the incident saying they are currently hunting for the suspect to be arrested and handed over to police.
He also warned his residents against taking the law into their hands saying they should take their misunderstandings to police or local leaders.
By press time police had not yet reached the scene of crime.
