State House Anti – Corruption Unit in liaison with Uganda police has arrested the District Education Officer Kitagwenda District for allegedly forging an appointment letter and posting instructions for himself.
Sedas Asiimwe was arrested on Wednesday 22nd February, 2023 and arraigned before the Kamwenge Chief Magistrate who remanded him till 28/02/23.
The accused allegedly forged an appointment letter and posting instructions in 2012/2013 purportedly signed by the Education Service Commission appointing him as an Education Officer at Kamwenge College School.
Through this fraudulent action, Asiimwe later applied for and was appointed District Education Officer-DEO, Kitagwenda last year.
There is an allegation also that the accused has been receiving two salaries on government payroll for two positions (using different names) with the second position as DEO using his real name.
