A 28 year old woman has been arrested together with her mother for the alleged murder of her father, a 50 year old resident of Labongo village, Pagak Parish, Amuru district.
According to the Police Spokesperson, SCP Enanga Fred, Amony Concy, and her mother Laduu Santa, aged 50 were arrested on Saturday, 25th February, 2023 after a tipoff by a resident.
Enanga says on the night of 24th February, around 8:00PM, the deceased who had advised his daughter against entering a new relationship with another man after leaving her husband, was attacked by the duo.
“This (advice) angered his daughter, who attacked and assaulted him. She was joined by her mother, Laduu Santa, a 50-year-old, house wife and they pushed the victim, Nyeko Augustine aged 66, to the ground, where he fell and hit his head on the ground,” says Enanga.
Enanga says the victim died and they locked his body in the house, which was recovered the following day of 25.02.2023 at around midday by Wokolanya Patrick, and a report made at police.
“Both Amony Concy, aged 28 and her mother Laduu Santa, aged 50, were arrested and charged with murder,” Enaga says.
He said police strongly condemns such acts of inter-family violence and urge families to always engage the LCs, police and respected members of the community, to address their differences.
