MBALE
Mbale police have intercepted and impounded a vehicle belonging to suspected thieves loaded with animals.
According to Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson, the impounded vehicle is Toyota Noah registration number UBD699F.
He adds that the vehicle was intercepted on Tuesday night, 14th March, 2023 at Bungokho Sub County in Mbale district along Tororo- Mbale highway at around 2:00am.
Taitika says the yet to be identified driver and other occupants abandoned the truck with the animals and took off.
He says police got 3 suspected stolen cows in the boot which are suspected to have been stolen from Manafwa or Namisindwa district.
The recovered animals and vehicle are at Busoba police post as investigations continue.
