A 26 year old man has been arrested after he hacked to death his younger brother whom he accused of beating and seriously injuring their father.
The incident happened at Museni village, Museni parish, Bumalimba Sub County in Sironko district on Thursday evening, 16th March, 2023.
According to one of the eye-witnesses who preferred anonymity, the suspect, Francis Namusi, a resident of Kigo village, Zembigi parish, Buchabo Sub County followed up his brother, Saulo Gidudu who had left home after beating their father and found him at Museni village.
Residents told this reporter that Namusi who actually believed their father had died from the beating cut his brother on the head with a panga killing him instantly.
Another eyewitness says the deceased forcefully sold off a cow that had been donated to the family by their uncle called Wilberforce Masiga.
“When the father (Charles Mudyemu) tried to stop him from selling the cow, the deceased descended on the father beating him seriously,” he said.
Henry Abaho, the Sironko district police commander has confirmed the incident saying they are currently holding Francis Namusi the suspect and Masiga, the uncle.
He adds that the two will be taken to court to answer charges of murder.
