Residents of Buteteya village, Buteteya Parish, Muhuyu Sub County in Namisindwa district are still in shock after one of their own strangled to death his two weeks’ old son.
Sam Kyoswa killed the baby on Monday night, 20th March, 2023 claiming he could not be the father to the child because it was disabled.
According to Fred Weyawula, a neighbor to the suspect, Kyoswa strangled his son at night arguing that he doesn’t produce kids with disabilities.
Weyawula says that the kid had disabilities on the mouth which made Kyoswa suspicious that the woman was impregnated by another man.
Joseph, the LCI chairperson of Buteteya confirmed the incident saying that Kyoswa was arrested and handed over to Namisindwa Central Police Station.
He warned married couples against taking the law in their hands but urged them to always go for DNA tests to prove the paternity of children.
However, Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson when contacted on phone declined to give a comment saying he has not yet received the information.
