By Weswa Ronnie

The State Minister for Trade and Co-operatives, Frederick Ngobi Gume has launched a Government Model farm in Kacuru Sub County, Butebo District.

Ngobi launched the Model Farm yesterday, 22nd March, 2023 that is estimated to cost around Shs500 million. It is to be supported by the Bumba Foundation from the UK.

While launching the farm, the Minister called upon the locals not to steal the pipes being used in the irrigation system in the farm.

The area woman MP of Butebo district, Agnes Adeema, said that as a district many locals will now be able to eat a balanced diet as many kids were suffering from malnutrition in the district.

She thanked the Minister for the project which she said will help them grow crops throughout the year as they were mostly affected by the dry season and they could not grow crops.

John Opolot, the LC5 chairperson of Butebo District said that as leaders, they will make sure such projects will have to be rolled over the whole district, to help curb the poverty levels in the district.
