Katakwi high school headteacher nearly beat his ICT teacher on Sunday 2nd April 2023 at about 4:00pm.
Mr. Michael Okurut narrowly fought with his junior I.T teacher, Mr. Erasmas Edecu claiming Edecu and others have been exposing him to the public more so using media.
Okurut who is to retire on 23rd September this year has now resorted to crude tactics of sorting out things.
Reports reveal that, the teacher had gone to take his G-nuts for planting but Okurut immediately called him and started intimidating while shouting in front of the students.
“you man, come here, hello? You have been heaping rubbish to me over alleged corruption? I will deal with you,” the headteacher is quoted to have said.
“When I collapsed in our private meeting, then you people leaked out information, Eh? He added.
They exchanged words hence exposing their confusion to the students and people around, an issue that called for attention from other staff.
Edecu on other hand said, he is not scared of fighting with the headteacher as long as he continues getting rumours, noting that, he has never at one point talked against his senior.
The school is located in Katakwi District, eastern party of Uganda but has a lot of public queries about the mismanagement of Shs 50M USE capitation grant that always comes from Ministry of education and sports.
The school since 2016 has not displayed any figures on the notice board as one way of showing transparency.
With the current enrolment of 200 students, the report indicates that, the school administration has been sending reports to the education ministry that, the institution has over 900 students.
FEEDBACK OVER THE MEDIA INVOLVEMENT
Last week the commissioner and a team from Ministry of education and sports accompanied by the Regional inspector and District inspector of schools visited the school and tasked Mr Okurut on physical accountability following reports seen in public.
He was also asked to explain why the school has deteriorated.
