KATAKWI: Minister Ogwang Gives out Shs90M to Ngariam Sub County Village Groups

In a bid to kick out poverty at a household level, the Minister of state for education and sports, has given out 90million cash to 30 villages of Ngariam sub-county, each getting 3million shillings.

 

Peter Ogwang who is also the area MP for Ngariam county while giving out the money yesterday, Sunday, 2nd April 2023 said Ngariam alone has 78 villages and the remaining 48 villages will get on Saturday this week. He added that, 234 million shillings has been budgeted for Ngariam sub-county alone.

 

The Minister urged the beneficiaries not to misuse the money but instead use it for developing their families through being in saving groups.

 

Ogwang asked the group members to deal with the loan defaulters.

 

The Ngariam LC3 Chairman, Hon. Moses Iteit said, the money will help even the opposition as long as the person is in the group.

 

The beneficiaries who were overwhelmed with joy appreciated the work of the Minister and offered turkeys, chicken and other things to him as part of their gifts.

 

Ogwang has finished giving 129million to the village saving groups of Okore sub-county that comprises of 8 parishes of; Okore, Kelim, Adungulu, Orimon, Paakwi, Rwatama, Opiananya and Aminit.

 

After sorting out Ngariam sub county, Ogwang will be heading to the sub-counties of; Palam, Town Council, Katakwi sub-county, Akoboi and Getom respectively.
