PALLISA
Pallisa District Local government has launched the disbursement of Parish Development Model (PDM) funds to individual beneficiaries.

The launch that took place yesterday 13th April, 2023 comes at a time when President Yoweri K. Museveni is currently touring the country to observe the implementation of PDM and Emyooga programs. He is currently in the West Nile region.
The launch exercise in Pallisa was held at Kamuge Town Council Playground, and was officiated by Mrs. Hajat Aisha Nakusi, the District Deputy Resident Commissioner.
In her communication to the beneficiaries, the D-RDC cautioned them to desist from the habit of misusing government funds which are meant to transform them to the money economy.
According to the D-RDC, out of the 200 beneficiaries of this PDM Pillar 3 launch, 140 of them managed to receive messages confirming receipt of the money on their accounts before the launch and 60 pending beneficiaries received messages afterwards.
She said that this success in a short time came as a result of teamwork and commitment exhibited by the PDM team during the enrollment of beneficiaries on the FIS system.
She emphasized that all stakeholders must join the team spearheading PDM so that the people are well sensitized to embrace it.
On his part, Donato Ola, the Chief Administrative Officer, Pallisa told our reporter that the district has so far received Shs 2.6 billion but they have so far launched 200 people in this phase and they are still enrolling other beneficiaries.
Peter Kalyebi, one of the first beneficiaries, confirmed to our reporter that he received a confirmation message on his phone from centenary bank alerting him that he has received Shs1 million. He appreciated the district leadership on behalf of the government for launching this program in Pallisa which he said is timely.
He added that he is going to use this money to boost his poultry business.
