MBALE CITY
A science teacher handling upper Primary at Nabuyonga Primary School, Industrial Division, Mbale City has been arrested for allegedly defiling two of his pupils.
The suspect identified as Joel Situma aged 26 years was picked by police last week after a tip off from a mother of one of the victims.
Nabuyonga Primary School is St Andrew’s Cathedral Church of Uganda founded school.
According to police, one of the victims is12 year old primary six pupil.
According to Rogers Taitika, the Elgon Region Police Spokesperson, the suspect was picked by police after Juliet Namono, the victim’s mother reported to police.
He adds that according to Namono, Situma has been convincing the minor several times to report to school at 5 am every morning for coaching and she believes he took advantage of that to defile her daughter.
Taitika also says that currently the suspect is at Mbale central police station and the medical examination has been done.
“The file has been forwarded to the resident Attorney for advice such that he can be taken to court to answer charges of aggravated defilement,” he said.
This website has information that the same teacher impregnated a daughter of one of the Administrators of the same school and helped the victim procure abortion.
