Mr Geoffrey Tsapwe, the Chief Executive Officer of Trinity Landlord,

A Real Estates company called “Trinity Land Lords” on Saturday, 22nd April, 2023 launched a new multibillion Estate scheme in Mbale district that is aimed at promoting organized settlements.

The new multibillion project in Masalire village, Bumbobi parish, in Bunghokho Sub County is called Wanale View Satellite City. The Satellite City will sit on 40 acres of land intended to house over 110 storied and bungalow structures and is expected to be complete in two to five years’ time.

The construction project was launched by Mr Michael Werikhe Kafabusa, the former State Minister for Housing at his home in Bunghokho Sub County in Mbale district where the scheme is located.

While launching the project, Werikhe said the idea of organized development came to him 15 years ago because organized development is the way to go especially as Uganda moves towards a middle-income status.

“I was in charge of physical planning and I have travelled widely outsides African and Europe and I have seen how people live so this prompted me to start the idea of organized and orderly development, am very excited as a physical planner because this project has never been anywhere in Eastern Uganda,” he said.

According to Mr Geoffrey Tsapwe, the Chief Executive Officer of Trinity Landlord, the project will be the first of its kind in Eastern region.

“Recently Mbale received a city status so in line with development, We have a vision of moving people away from congested cities and provide houses with more land, this is an organized city where bungalows are in one section and storied houses in another this will be the first of its kind in the eastern region,” Tsapwe  said.

He added that total cost is expected to be over sh.45billion covering 110 homes and the housing will be a total city setting with recreation centers and sports field.

“The first phase is covering about 110 homes and the total project cost is expected to be about sh.45 billion shillings in terms of construction, the total land size is 40 acres containing football fields, basketball courts, swimming pool, and a common parking space all within the gated city,” he added.

Dozens of political and religious leaders attended the launch including Umukuuka Wilson Wamimbi, former Bamasaaba cultural leader, who was the guest of honour.

A Satellite City is a self-contained town and limited in size, built in the vicinity of a large town or city to house and employ those who would otherwise create a demand for expansion of the existing settlement, but dependent on the parent-city to a certain extent for population and major services.

Meanwhile Weswa Reports that; the former Minister said those willing to buy already constructed buildings in the Satellite City will be given the house plus a processed land title.

Kafabusa also said those that are willing to buy plots are free to do so from the Parent Company and will be given a land title before he/she starts with construction process but on condition that the building will be in the same design as those designed by the company.

Geoffrey Tsepwe   the executive director of Trinity landlords says that each plot in the city will be 50 by 100 ft.
