Kapelebyong District to Lay 16B Budget for F/Y 2023-24

Kapelebyong district local government in Eastern Uganda is set to lay a 16 Billion budget for Financial Year, 2023-24 in today’s Council meeting 27th April 2023.

 

A district with the Core values that include, transparency and accountability, Professionalism, innovation and integrity, is always celebrated of having key and strategic Civil service work for the betterment of the common person.

 

This was revealed by the District communications officer for Kapelebyong Mr. Opio Emmanuel saying, the key issues in the order paper shall be laying of the district budget for the financial year 2023-2024.

 

Opio said the budget is estimated at 16billion shillings and it’s not different from this financial year’s budget which is running.

 

“We are determined with the mission of providing quality services in attainment of sustainable social-economic development through efficient and effective service delivery in conformity with National Policies and Local priorities,” Opio stated.

 

Opio pointed some departments with allocations for the 2023-24 F/Y as; Education with 7.9billion, Health 3.5bn, Works 1.38bn among others.

 

Among the items in the order paper include, approval of the 5th member of the District service commission and the district public accounts committee, passing of welfare bylaws for Kapelebyong Sub-County and discussion of the council committee reports.

 

Opio urged members of the public to show interest in following the proceedings since the council matters discussed are of their benefit.

 

In our report, the running budget was 16billion as Education and health (human capital development) took a lion’s share of 11billion, followed by administration with 2billion, production (agro industrialization) with 600million and works 600million.

 

Kapelebyong District was created with the vision of creating a harmonious, healthy and prosperous people.

 

The District being built in Kapelebyong town council, is located 81kms away from Soroti Via Amuria road, hence bordering Districts like; Katakwi from the east, Amuria (south), Otuke (north) and Napak from the North-east.
