SOROTI CITY
Scores of students have been critically injured in Gweri Corner accident that occurred in the wee hours of this morning, 27th April, 2023. The accident occurred at 3:00PM.
The students were traveling in an open fuso truck UBE 899C that was hired by the school authority of Ariengesep SS in Nabilatuk to transport the students back home for their holidays, according to the victims.
The students fault the fuso driver for over speeding that made him fail to safely negotiate a sharp corner from Gweri trading center to Soroti.
Dozens are admitted at Soroti regional referral hospital in critical condition and by press time no fatality had been registered.
The students were coming back for holidays and many are from Serere district.
By the time of filing this story, no comments from both police and hospital authorities had been given as both teams tried to attend to the situation.
