A 28-year-old man known as Dan Wetaka from Simu Sub County is on the run after beating his wife into a coma over Parish Development Model (PDM) money.
According to Stanley Bayola, the Bulambuli Resident District Commissioner, Wetaka’s wife (Name withheld) received Shs1million under the Parish Development Model program.
Bayola says that the woman used the money to buy a heifer without the consent of her husband.
When Wetaka came back from drinking joint on Tuesday night, 22nd May, 2023, he beat the wife accusing her of buying a cow without his approval as the head of the home and not giving him some of the money for his personal use.
The RDC also says that the wife is currently in critical condition receiving treatment at Mbale main referral hospital as police are hunting for Wetaka.
