The Inspectorate of Government (IGG) has just arrested six senior officials from the office of the Prime Minister over the diverted Karamoja iron sheets.
The 6 who were arrested today 14th June 2023 are; Mr. Masigazi Deogratious, Mr. Abaho Joshua, Ms. Asasira Barbara, Mr. Tonny Ameny Emmy, Mr. Peter Amodoi, and Mr. Samuel Ofungi.
Joshua Abaho is the Senior Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Karamoja Affairs acting as Minister Mary Kitutu’s Personal Assisatant and had earlier been remanded to Luzira over the same scandal. He was later granted a sh8 million cash bail early May. toAbaho is accused of conspiring with her boss Mary Gorreti Kitutu to defraud the government of its iron sheets.
According to a brief statement issued by the office of the IGG, the six will be arraigned before the Anti-Corruption Court, Kololo this afternoon on charges of Abuse of office.
