Local leaders from different sub counties of Sironko district have today, 29th June 2023 stormed district head offices paralyzing  works over non payment of exgratia allowances.
Sironko district paid exgratia to sub county councilors, LC1s, and LC2s this month but some were not paid over unknown reasons.
Today morning, all those leaders who did not get the money stormed district head offices to get an explanation which ended up paralyzing works at the district.
Saudi Wakola, the LC1 chairperson of Mukuki cell in Bukiet town council and Stephen Madanda LC1 chairperson of Bumunyasi A village in Namaguli Sub County say that they are very disappointed with the district for leaving out some of the leaders in the payment.
They add that they have tried to seek explanation from district leaders but no positive responses which forced them to storm the district.
Rogers Mafabi, the LC3 chairperson of Bumalimba and Muladi Wokoli LC3 chairperson of Bukieti Elizale town council say that LC1s were on their necks claiming that they have connived with the district leaders to eat their money.
They say that they want the district leaders to explain to these leaders why their money has delayed yet others have been paid.
Livingston Giluli, the LCV chairperson of Sironko district says that it’s unfortunate that some leaders have not yet been paid their money yet they have different obligations to fulfill.
He tasked the fiance department to come up with clear explanation to the leaders such that they can be calm.
Ephraime Denis Balwaniregha, the Sironko Resident District Commissioner has called for calm among the leaders saying that after contacting district financial department he was told that the delay of payment came as a result of names which do not match with those registered on mobile money.
He adds that some LC1s and 2s gave out wrong numbers which led the system to send money to other different people.
He says that by next week all these errors are going to be solved and those missing are going to be paid fully.
Each Lc1 chairperson and LC2 chaperon are entitled to earn 120,000 then sub county councilor 420,000 per financial year as their exgratia.
