Shock in Bududa district after land slide destroyed crops and cut off Kuwushu main road last evening.
Land slide came after heavy downpour which lasted for over six hours at Kuwushu town council.
According to Milton Kamoti, the LCV chairperson of Bududa district, the land slide destroyed crops like bananas ,coffee , tomatoes among others with no house destroyed or life taken.
Kamoti also says that the district is planning tomorrow (today) to take a grader and open the Kuwushu road which was cut off and it’s the only road connecting locals from Kuwushu town council to Bududa district local government and other areas in the district to access services.
Sam Kutosi and Peter Kusolo both affected residents urged government and NGOs to support them with food since all their crops were buried by land slide.
By press time, rains were still high as more land slide cracks were sighted at sub counties like Bubita, Bushiribo , Bushiyi , Bulucheke putting locals under tension.
