The LC3’S of Katakwi District have today, 6th July, 2023 cleared the air following the recently fake and purported statement by a social media idler by names Ronald Imeri AKA iculi ibelo.
Obukui Jorem, the chairperson of the LC3’s in Katakwi District said, the above person on Monday 3rd of July 2023 made a social media tweet that the team of LC3s that met the Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament Anita Annet Among in Kampala was planning to assassinate Okubu James, a tax collector in Ocorimongin cattle market.
He said the Speaker was meeting the FDC LC3’s who crossed to NRM party during the fundraising in Katakwi in January this year that was organised by the Minister of Education and sports Peter Ogwang.
The Number 0772796688 by names of imeri Ronald, faked the issue saying, the meeting was chaired by Hon. Obukui Jorem at half London bar and guest House in Katakwi.
The owner of half London bar and guest House, Mr. Joseph Olemtum commonly known as Ikobo refuted the claim by the social media idler saying, he is recording a case of defamation against the said puppet.
Okubu James with the number 0783362222 is purely the owner of the number registered under the name of Imeri Ronald aka iculi ibelo. He uses that number for abusing leaders and gets back to other number of his. Four months back, Okubu was exposed by one Omuya Noah for using his other number and relaxed for few days.
Hon. Elvis Ojula, the LC3 for Katakwi sub county said he has received a lot of calls warning them as to why they met the Speaker but said, he can’t be threatened.
Hon. Iremaut Micheal, the LC3 of Kapujan Sub County said, let the enemies of progress not fail the focus of the association.
Hon. Omeke William, the Secretary for publicity in the association and the LC3 for Ongongoja said, their meeting was to lobby for support from the Speaker which was considered.
Among the issues shared was, the increment of LC3s salaries in the entire country, advocating for a tractor for LC3s in Katakwi and others.
The house that was full to capacity, saw the LC3s condemning the act of social media idlers who feel unhappy about their umbrella.
They agreed to work for the good of the people and engage with other Legislators.
Katakwi district has 16 sub counties and 4 Town councils.
It’s headed by top leaders, the Vice President Alupo Jessica, State Minister for Education and sports Hon Peter Ogwang and others.
